Why Your Support Is Critical
With your help, we will be able to protect the region’s native landscapes, including rocky summit grasslands, oak woodlands, mountain streams and streamside forests. Successful conservation in these areas means successful conservation of Lake George.
The Lake George Land Conservancy needs your help to:
- Preserve more than 25,000 acres of upland forest communities.
- Protect 2,000 acres of streams and wetlands and 8,000 acres of surrounding habitat to buffer the sensitive wetlands and protect drinking water resources throughout the watershed.
- Enhance protection on the upland hillsides and summit and slope communities to preserve the ecology of the watershed and the purity of Lake George.
- Continue to work with partners and private landowners on strategic land protection deals that provide synergy and support in the local communities.
